Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington College Community Arts Program is pleased to present Rambleshoe, a dance and musical collaboration between Red Clay Ramblers and Rhythm in Shoes. Rambleshoe will perform in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts at Huntington College March 1, 2004, at 7:30 p.m.

Using both traditional and original forms of music and dance to spin the tangled tale of Rambleshoe, RIS and RCR create a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience with a brand new Dixieland hoedown flavor.

The Red Clay Ramblers began in 1972, as a trio of musicians who had been playing in and around Chapel Hill, N.C. Now in their 33rd year, the Tony Award-winning string-band has a repertoire that reflects their roots in old-time mountain music, country, rock, Dixieland, bluegrass and gospel.

Rhythm in Shoes is a company of dancers and musicians based in Dayton, Ohio. Drawing on traditional forms of American music, dance-swing tunes, tap, hoedowns and clogging, RIS has been critically acclaimed for thirteen years.

Cost for this event is between $11 and $15, depending on seating section. Seniors and students receive a $2 discount. Contact the Merillat Centre for the Arts box office at (260) 359-4261 for more information.

Rambleshoe was made possible by the Doris Duke Fund for Dance of the National Dance Project, a program of the New England Foundation for the Arts. Additional funding is provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and Philip Morris Companies Inc.
