HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Huntington University women’s basketball team landed one of the area’s top forwards with the signing of Fremont High School standout Miranda White.
A three-time All-Conference and All-Area pick, White has twice been voted her team’s MVP. During her last three years in an Eagle uniform, she helped guide her squad to 38 wins by averaging just under 11 points per outing to finish with 716 career points.
During her final campaign, the 5-10 forward averaged 10.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.8 blocks per night and for her efforts received her second consecutive IBCA Honorable Mention All-State accolade. White was also invited to the Northeast Conference Clash All-Star game and played in another all-star game earlier this month.
She also boasts a sectional championship and two Defensive Player of the Year awards.
Coach Culler is excited to add White to the roster. “Miranda caught my eye with her talent and her positive attitude on the court. As I've gotten to know her through the recruiting process, I'm also excited about the versatility in her game and her work ethic.
“This combination of skills and abilities will serve her well at the next level. Miranda is a quality young lady that will not only be a great addition to our team, but also to our make an impact in our classrooms and on our campus.”
Miranda is the daughter of Brad and Sabrina White of Fremont, Ind.
