Taylor University (8-3) held the Foresters (5-4) to 12 second half points and 18% shooting to run away with a 70-37 rout.
Six minutes into the first half, Taylor took an 8-6 lead on an Allison Easterhaus layup and they never gave it up the remainder of the game. Huntington kept the Trojans close throughout the rest of the half and headed to the locker room down 30-25 at the break.
Both offenses were sluggish to start the second half and the Foresters trailed Taylor 37-33 at the 14:27 mark, but it was the Trojans that got on track first and Huntington never did. Taylor held the Foresters to just four points over the final 14 minutes of play to earn push their MCC record to 3-1.
Bethany Ballard scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds off the bench to lead Taylor. Paige Rudolph added 12 points and three assists and Easterhaus finished with 10 points. Amy Berry and Kendra Stahl both scored 11 to pace Huntington.
The Trojans finished the game shooting 44 % (22-50) from the field, while the Foresters were stone cold at 29% (15-52). Taylor won the battle of the boards 43-25.
