The Foresters had several miscues at inopportune times and fell in their home opener to Taylor University in three straight 17-30, 29-31-22-30.
In game one, HU got off to a slow start with numerous hitting and serving errors, but then picked up the intensity level heading into game two. The score seesawed back and forth throughout the second game and HU tied things up at 29, but the Trojans took advantage of two Forester errors to gain the 2-0 lead. Game three was close early, but the Trojans put together a couple mini runs to put HU away.
Heidi Christner led the Foresters with 11 kills and Amy Wilson added 10. Alyssa Schroeder had 33 assists and Stephanie Stearns had 22 digs. Tiffany Malfait and Renee Biberstine both had two aces in the match.
The loss drops the Foresters to 7-3 on the season and 0-2 in the MCC.
