Spasic posts two wins on senior day

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Playing in its first and only home match of the spring season, the Forester women’s tennis team collected a 6-3 win over IU East Friday afternoon at Wildwood Racquet Club in Fort Wayne. With this win, HU improves to 4-11.

For Aleksandra Spasic, HU’s lone senior, it was her final home match of her collegiate career. She went out in style by teaming up with Cassie Kasicki at No. 1 doubles for an 8-3 win over Paige Froman and Chelsi Hinners before posting a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles.

Coach Roger Ferguson spoke of Alek’s contribution to HU, “It’s been a real pleasure to have Alek on our team the past three years. She has been a great player, a great teammate and more important, a great friend. We will miss her laugh and smile.”

The Foresters hit the road on Friday to take on Davenport University at 5:00 p.m.
