Spahr makes debut at NAIA Championships

Vancouver, Wash. – Freshman Gretchen Spahr represented the Huntington University women's cross country team at the 2011 NAIA National Cross Country Championships on Saturday. The 5,000 meter championship was contested at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Washington.

Spahr, a Huntington native, placed 67th out of 323 runners with a time of 19:43. She earned an automatic bid to the NAIA Championships after finishing second overall at the MCC Championships two weeks earlier. 
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 53 NAIA All-America honors and 187 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations.
