The Foresters (13-16) battled Siena Heights University early and fell late in both games of the doubleheader, losing 4-3 and 11-3 to the Saints.
In game one, HU jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a two-run blast by Keri Badenhop in the top of the first. The Foresters gave one back in the bottom of the inning, but got it back in the top of the third for a 3-1 margin. The Saints pulled within one on a two-out triple and a RBI single in the sixth and then got the two they needed in the seventh on an error, a RBI single and a game-winning double.
Lauren Ward allowed four runs, two earned, on eight hits and she struck out 10 in the loss. Kendra Stahl had two hits, including a double and scored two runs for HU.
In the nightcap, the Foresters fought back from a 2-0 deficit to tie it in the fourth, but Siena Heights blew the game open with five runs in the bottom of the fifth and then brought the game to an early close with four more in the sixth.
Ashley Scally was the pitcher of record for HU. She threw five and a third innings and gave up 11 runs on 12 hits and a walk while striking out five. April Snider went 3-3 at the plate and scored a run for the Foresters.
