Sheets named Crossroads Pitcher of the Week

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Huntington University sophomore Ariel Sheets threw a perfect game last week and for her efforts was named this week’s Crossroads Pitcher of the Week in addition to being named the Forester Athlete of the Week.

Sheets’ impressive outing on the mound came against Mount Marty College (SD) on Monday during the Foresters’ week at the Tuscon Invitational Games (AZ) over spring break. The South Bend native (Marian HS) struck out seven of the 15 batters she faced in HU’s 8-0 win over the Lancers.

She currently boasts a 2.49 ERA and has posted two wins against one loss. She is ranked 22nd in NAIA Division II in total earned runs allowed (7) and 30th in total hits allowed (24).
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 39 NAIA All-America honors and 213 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
