Rongos to play tennis at HU


HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Forester women’s tennis program has added its second top-notch recruit for this fall with the signing of Columbia City standout Celine Rongos.

With her senior campaign still underway, Rongos has saved her best for last. She is currently boasting an unblemished 13-0 record at #1 singles for the Lady Eagles. To date, she has amassed 39 career wins against 14 losses at the top spot for her CC squad.

An All-Conference and MVP selection as a sophomore and junior, Rongos appears to be headed for a three-peat as she nears the end of her senior season. She has also garnered plenty of attention within the state, having earned All-District and All-State Honorable Mention honors last season.

Rongos is also no stranger to the USTA circuit where she is ranked 6th in northern Indiana. She is a two-star recruit and ranked 15th in Indiana according to

"I'm very pleased and excited that Celine will be playing for us next fall,” said Coach Fergusson. “Celine was recruited by several universities, including schools in our conference, so to have her choose HU tennis and to buy into our commitment to improve, will be a big boost to our team."

Celine is the daughter of Paul and Renee Rongos.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 46 NAIA All-America honors and 202 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
