HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Forester softball program has added its second recruit to next year’s roster with the signing of Lakewood Park Christian School standout Hannah Priskorn.

With her final campaign yet to be played; Priskorn has already accumulated a laundry list of awards and honors over the course of her prep career including three trips to the state finals.

As a sophomore, the two-time All-Area outfielder led the state in hits with 63 and helped guide the Panthers to an IHSAA Softball 1A State Championship. She finished the year with a .573 batting average and hammered out 15 RBI.

Last year, Priskorn and crew defended their 1A State Championship. She was once again a force to be reckoned with offensively and for her efforts was named the KPC-prep All-Area Co-Player of the Year.

The Auburn native wrapped up the year with 50 hits. She scored 40 runs and knocked in 15 more to go along with 27 stolen bases. She carried a batting average of .485 and drew 14 walks while only striking out ten times.

Huntington University head coach Doug Gower looks forward to Priskorn’s impact on the program. “"Hannah is a competitive difference-maker in all areas of the game.

“She is a powerful runner, covers a ton of ground in the outfield and is hard to contain on the bases.  She is a big reason Lakewood Park Christian has won two consecutive Indiana state softball titles. She is an offensive catalyst and will bring those qualities to HU in spades."

Hannah, daughter of John and Eva Priskorn, plans to double major in psychology and criminal justice.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 39 NAIA All-America honors and 213 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. U.S.News & World Report ranks Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest.
