Ogle named HU Athlete of the Week

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of May 13-19, 2013. Women’s track junior Cendall Ogle earned the honor for her outstanding efforts at the Dr. Keeler Invitational last week.

Ogle shaved over seven seconds off her personal best in the 1500 meter run to punch her ticket to the 2013 NAIA National Track & Field Championships. The Warsaw native (Warsaw H.S.) ran a 4:40.44, the second fastest time in Huntington history, to finish 12th in the 1500 meters and hit the provisional mark.

The 2013 National Track and Field Championships are slated for May 23-25 at Indiana Wesleyan University. It will mark Ogle’s third trip in as many years to the national stage.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 46 NAIA All-America honors and 202 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
