Ogle and Wood headed to Nationals


HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Senior Lance Wood and junior Cendall Ogle will represent Huntington University at the 2013 NAIA Outdoor National Championships slated for May 23-25 at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Wood (Waterville, Ohio, Toledo Christian H.S.) will be making his first appearance on the national stage in the marathon as the 64th seed scheduled for 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25. He punched his ticket to the championships by running a 1:14:29.72 at the Veterans Half Marathon in Columbia City, Indiana on November 10, 2012.

For Ogle, this marks her third trip to a track and field national championship. As a freshman she finished 29th at outdoor nationals in the steeplechase and last year the Warsaw native (Warsaw H.S.) was a member of the distance medley relay team that claimed 18th at indoor nationals.

This year, she will toe the line for the 1500 meter trials as the 27th-seed on Thursday, May 23, at 3:20 p.m. with finals scheduled for Saturday, May 25, at 3:00 p.m.
