No. 2 HU advances to semifinals with 7-2 win over 7th-seeded Taylor

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The 2nd-seeded Forester men’s tennis team cruised to a 7-2 win over 7th-seeded Taylor University Tuesday afternoon at Klopfenstein Courts in first round action of the Crossroads League Tournament.

HU moves onto the semifinals slated for Thursday at 4:00 p.m. Huntington will host No. 3 Indiana Wesleyan while the other semifinals matchup will feature 4th-seed Marian at top-seeded Grace.

Huntington’s top two spots in doubles play got the job done, as has been the case all season, with Vlad Khudziy and Jose Hungria teaming up for the 8-2 win at the #1 spot and Joseph Straznicky and Diego Inurritegui claiming the 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles.

The Foresters (10-2) continued to dominate in singles, collecting straight set wins at five of the six spots.
