McHenry and Wood receive NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors

Vancouver, Wash. -The NAIA announced Friday that 159 men's cross country student-athletes and 296 women's cross country student-athletes have been named 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Among the list of honorees were HU junior Lance Wood (Waterville, Ohio, Toldeo Christian High School) and HU senior Krystal McHenry (Fremont, Ind., Fremont High School).

Student-athletes are nominated by their institution’s head coach and must have at least a junior academic standing and carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.  
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 53 NAIA All-America honors and 187 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. U.S.News & World Report ranks Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest.
