HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington University men’s basketball program continues to build a solid roster for 2014-15 with the signing of McCutcheon High School standout Trevor Lockwood.

Four games into his senior campaign, the 6-8 center is averaging 14.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.8 blocks per contest with hopes that he’s saved his best for last.

Coming off a 15-9 record last season, Lockwood posted 13.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per outing for the Mavericks and added to his laundry list of awards and honors.

In addition to being named an Indiana Elite North/South 4A All-Star as a junior, he also earned IBCA Honorable Mention All-State accolades and received the J&C Hoops Classic Sportsmanship and MVP awards in addition to being named HCC First Team All-Conference.

As a sophomore, the Lafayette (Ind.) native was named to the 2012 All-Tournament Team and was tagged the J&C Hoops Classic Area Athlete of the Month in February.

HU head coach Ty Platt looks forward to his prospects in Lockwood, “We are very excited to have Trevor join our Forester basketball program. Trevor will bring a lot to our team. He is a long, athletic, versatile post player.

“His ability to rebound, block shots and score inside as well as out, are tremendous. He also is an extremely hard worker who has a great understanding of the game. We think he will have a tremendous four year career.”

Platt goes on to say, "With the signing of Trevor our 2014 recruiting class is shaping up to be a group of young men that will leave their mark early and often on our program."

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 39 NAIA All-America honors and 213 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
