HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of September 23, 2013. Men’s tennis senior Vlad Khudziy earned the honor for his outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.

Khudziy inched his team one step closer to a conference title this past week with two big wins over conference foes Spring Arbor and Marian. He guided the Foresters to a 7-2 win over SAU on Tuesday before handing Marian its first conference loss on Saturday.

The Foresters also took on non-conference rival Indiana Tech Wednesday afternoon and came away with a 6-3 win to improve to 8-2 overall, 6-1 in league play.

The Moscow, Russia native was perfect on the week in singles action where he remains undefeated at 10-0 at the No. 1 spot. He also racked up three wins at #1 doubles where he and partner Jose Hungria are 9-0 on the season.

Grace currently sits atop the conference but the Foresters will have a chance to take over the top post with a win over the Lancers on Tuesday. The match is slated to start at 3:30 p.m. in Winona Lake.
