Herber three-peats as MCC Runner of the Week

Huntington, Ind. - For the third time this season, Huntington University senior Joseph Herber (Fremont, Ind., Fremont High School) was named the Mid-Central Conference (MCC) Runner of the Week.

This past weekend Herber was crowned the individual champion of the MCC conference meet held at Shanklin Park in Goshen, Indiana. He crossed the line in 24:55, over six seconds ahead of second place finisher Kyle Anderson of Spring Arbor, and earned his third MCC All-Conference honor.

As a team, the Foresters captured the conference title for the fifth time in program history to earn an automatic bid the 56th annual NAIA National Cross Country Championships slated for November 19 at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Washington.

Herber will be making his third appearance to the NAIA National Cross Country Championships. He was a member of the 2008 Forester squad that finished 10th at Nationals and last year he competed as an individual, finishing 198th overall.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 53 NAIA All-America honors and 187 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
