HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington women’s tennis team wrapped up the conference portion of its season with a 5-4 loss to Grace College Tuesday afternoon at Klopfenstein Courts.

With the Grace/Marian match still to be played, the Foresters are currently sitting sixth in the conference standings with an opportunity to be tied for fifth with Grace should the Knights beat the Lancers.

Playing without top player Cassie Kasicki, HU was forced to shuffle the line-up. Huntington didn’t miss a beat in doubles action where they logged a pair of wins before heading into singles action where the Lancer got the best of HU.

Celine Rongos made quick work of Kristin Cassidy at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-2, as did Morgan Bemisderfer at the No. 2 spots where she only gave up one set to Jayna Huber, 6-0, 6-1. It was all Grace after that as they tallied four points to mount the come-from-behind win.

The Foresters (4-6, 3-5) take on non-conference foe Earlham on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
