HU women’s basketball ranked 8th on WBCA Honor Roll

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association has announced its WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls for the 2013-14 season and among the list of honorees in the NAIA division is the Huntington University women’s basketball team.

The WBCA has been publishing its Top 25 Team Honor Roll for 19 years and the Foresters have appeared on the list ten times with an 8th place ranking this year. Culler’s squad earned a team GPA of 3.523 this past season.

HU was one of thirteen programs that made the 2014 Academic Top 25 and also played in either the NAIA Division I or Division II tournament.

A team’s GPA is calculated by dividing the total number of quality points earned by the total number of hours attempted by all team members in the academic terms (semesters or quarters) that the season spans. A team must have a 3.000 or better GPA to be nominated.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 38 NAIA All-America honors and 222 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. U.S.News & World Report ranks Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest.
