Playing in a field of 14 teams that included NCAA Division II and NAIA institutions, the Foresters finished tenth with a three round total of 931.
After posting a first round score of 323, HU was sitting in 12th place in the standings. The Foresters took 13 strokes off during the second round with a 310 and then posted the fifth best score of 298 in the final round to move up to tenth place.
The University of Indianapolis won the event with an 870 followed by Ferris State (874), Grand Valley State (879), Findlay (893), Wisconsin-Parkside (895), Tiffin (904), Northwood (911), Indianapolis B team (923), St. Joseph's (929), HU (931), Marian (935), Southern Indiana - Edwardsville (941), Quincy (1020) and Oakland City (1021).
Dan Schroeder came up with a four under par 68 in the final round to pace HU. He shot an 81 and a 75 in the first two rounds to finish with a team-leading 224. Justin Imel was also under par in the final round with a 71. He combined a 77 and an 81 in the first two rounds to shoot a 229 for the tournament. Spencer Batt (83, 77,79) was third with a 239. Ryan Bonner was a stroke behind him at 240 (82, 77, 81). Cory Powell finished with a 246 (83, 83, 80) and Luke Smith had a 247 (77, 87, 83).
"The first day was very disappointing," said Coach Green. "We really didn't show up and play like we were capable of playing. On a positive note, the last round was great. Dan's play was spectacular and Justin also played very well. This was probably the toughest field of opponents that we will face all year, so to have a top five score on the final day was very good for us."
