HU soccer adds Hester to roster


Troy HesterHUNTINGTON, Ind. - Huntington University men’s soccer Coach Russ Lawson has announced that Troy Hester from Liberty Center, Ohio, has signed his letter of intent to play for the Foresters this fall.

As captain and keeper for Monclova Christian Academy, Hester set game and season records for saves while leading his school to their first conference title. As a senior he notched an impressive nine clean sheets on his way to being named his team’s most valuable player.

“Troy has great length, he is courageous and he is a natural shot stopper,” said Coach Lawson. “He is going to do well for us in years to come.”

Hester will round out his club career for Valentis Athletica this spring before he arrives on campus and looks to make his mark on the soccer field and in the classroom as an HU honor student.

Troy is the son of Craig and Colleen Hester from Liberty Center, OH. 

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 39 NAIA All-America honors and 213 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations.
