The Foresters baseball team (6-6) only needed five innings to take care of business against the Golden Bears of West Virginia Tech as they posted their first shutout of the season 10-0.

In the top of the second, the Foresters exploded for nine runs on nine hits and three Golden Bear errors. With no outs, HU strung together four consecutive singles and took advantage of two passed balls to score their first three runs. The Foresters' hot hitting continued as they also utilized their speed on the bases and took advantage of several defensive miscues and a wild pitch to score six more runs in the inning for the 9-0 advantage. HU then added one more in the third to make it 10-0 as they cruised to a five-inning victory.

Ty Mills recorded the win with his three-hit shutout. He only allowed two free passes and struck out five in his five innings of work. Travis Frantz went 2-for-3 to lead the Foresters at the plate while Jarod and Jamon Hammel each recorded 2 RBI.

The Foresters have the day off and will resume action tomorrow when the take on Indiana Institute of Technology in an exhibition game.
