HU notches fourth conference win


In a back and forth battle, the Foresters fought off the Pilots to secure the 5-4 conference win.

In doubles action the Foresters claimed two wins. The duo of Haley Neiderhiser and Raelyn Althoff got the 8-6 win at #1. At #2 Kelsey Mark and Joni Holsem didn't go down without a fight eventually succumbing to their opponents 9-8 (7-2). Erica Abel and Kristen Lahman finished up doubles play with a 8-4 win at #3.

Bethel's #1 singles player withdrew giving the win to Neiderhiser. Althoff dominated at #2 for the 6-1, 6-3 win. Mark fell short at #3 6-4, 6-2 while Lahman secured the easy 6-2, 6-3 win at #4. Bethel went on to win at the #5 an #6 spots handing Abel a 6-3, 7-5 loss and Sunderman a 6-3, 6-1 loss.

The Foresters wrap up their season with a 5-5 record, 4-4 in conference play. The 2009 MCC Women's Tennis tournament kicks off on Thursday at Indiana Wesleyan.
