In first round action of the Huntington University/Ness. Bros. Hall of Fame Tournament, the Forester men's basketball
team (4-0) cruised past Kuyper College (0-4) 100-45 on Friday night.
In a game they never trailed, the Foresters quickly took control of the contest by jumping out to a 19-6 lead within the first five minutes of play. HU never looked back as they built a 35-piont lead by intermission. Kellen Zawadzki and Tyler Shively accounted for more than half of HU's offensive output in the first twenty minutes by scoring 14 and 13 points respectively.
The second half was more of the same thing as the Foresters continued to dominate the Cougars on both ends of the court. With every Forester seeing action, Huntington earned the convincing win to pick up their fourth win of the season.
Shively led all scorers with 20. Zawadzki chipped in 17 points and five assists while Seth Kisler and TJ Short came off the bench to finish with 12 and 11 points respectively. Alex Nafziger grabbed a team-high six boards. Brandon Klomp paced the Cougars with 14 points and Matt Storey finished with ten.
With this win, the Foresters advance to the championship game of the HU/Ness. Bros. Hall of Fame Tournament where they will take on Missouri Valley College on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
