HU competes at Little State over the weekend

Huntington, Ind. - The Foresters competed in the 106th annual Little State Championships held at Indiana Wesleyan University on Friday and Saturday. The men finished eleventh while the women came in eighteenth.

For the women, the only top ten finish came from Cendall Ogle who finished ninth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:26.86. Vincennes took the women's team title with 121 points followed by Indiana Tech with 108 and the University of Indianapolis with 101. HU failed to score any points to finish last.

On the men's side, Joseph Herber blew away the competition in the 10,000 meters with his time of 31:11.69, 23 seconds faster than the second place finisher. In addition to bringing home the top finish, he qualified nationals to be held May 26-28 at this same venue. Alec Rosario finished fifth in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:01.44. Todd Fiedler was sixth in triple jump with his leap of 43-08.50.

The University of Indianapolis won the men's championship with a team score of 154.50 followed by Vincennes with 122.20 and Indiana Tech with 96.70. The Foresters were eleventh of 17 teams with a score of 17.
