HU bowling adding two Sunshine State products to its roster


HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington University men’s bowling program as added two Sunshine State standouts to its 2013-14 roster with the signing of Daniel and Joseph Miller of Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School (Cocoa, Fla.).

The Miller twins led their Viper squad to a 2011 Brevard County District 10 Championship. That same year they also guided Space Coast to a 12th place finish at the Florida High School State Bowling State Finals.

Individually, Joseph averaged 208 with a high game of 300. He was his team’s MVP as a junior and this past season was named to the All Space Coast Conference Team.

Daniel has been equally successful, having averaged a 206. In 2011 he was the Landen Memorial Scholarship Champion and the following year was the Cape Coast Conference Individual Champion and placed third at Florida High School District Tournament. He will also be one of several Forester bowlers competing in July in the USBC Junior Olympic Gold Tournament in Detroit, Mich.

Both will graduate from Space Coast with honors. Daniel will enter HU as a chemistry major while Joseph plans to study history.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 46 NAIA All-America honors and 202 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
