Grace College spoiled the Foresters sweep by winning the last of the four-game series 13-4. HU won the opening game 5-2. The split makes HU 24-16 on the season and 15-7 in the MCC tying them for third with Taylor in the conference standings with one conference doubleheader remaining in the regular season.
The Foresters took a 3-0 lead after two innings of play in game one and never trailed. Grace scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the third, but HU plated one in both the fourth and fifth for the 5-2 victory.
Eric Randel got the complete-game win for the Foresters. He allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out two. Edwin Rodriguez led HU with two hits including a two-run single in the second inning. Eric Schultz had the Foresters' only extra base hit, a solo homerun in the fourth.
In the second game, HU plated the game's first three runs in the top of the third, but the Lancers answered back and then some in their half of the frame. Grace combined seven hits including a 3-run homerun, with three Forester errors to score 11 times before HU could retire the side. It would be all the offense the Lancers would need.
