Greene named Athlete of the Week

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of February 26-March 3, 2013. Women’s basketball senior Allison Greene earned the honor for her outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.

Greene, a 5-foot-5 senior guard, helped lead the Foresters (18-13) to a 69-64 upset win over higher-seeded Taylor University Tuesday evening in opening round action of the Crossroads League tournament at Odle Arena. She scored 15 points which included three long balls and swiped two steals to advance HU to the semifinals.

On Friday against the nation’s top defensive team, she tossed in 12 points while shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe in HU’s season-ending 64-53 loss to No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan University.

The Peru, Ind. native (Peru HS) wraps up her career having scored 902 points in a Forester uniform. 
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 46 NAIA All-America honors and 202 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
