The Forester men’s
cross country teams competed in the Great Lakes Challenge at Aquinas College on Saturday.
In the men's 8K race that included seven nationally ranked teams, HU had a solid showing finishing 13th of 28 teams with 361 points. The Foresters were led by Joseph Herber's 19th place finish in 25:27, which was a new personal best for the junior. He finished second out of Indiana runners and second among MCC runners. Lance Wood finished 52nd in 26:10. Not far behind was Alex Rosario who crossed the line in 26:33 for a 67th finish. Other HU runners included Nathan Rupp (89th, 26:54), Daniel Becker (134th, 28:12), Josh McIntyre (146th, 28:48), Seth Murphy (149th, 28:58), Isaiah Laatsch (29:18), Federico Olaosebikan (29:41), Ethan Medley (30:08), Alan Huffman (30:19), Matt Bittner (30:21) and David Boyer (30:50).
#2-ranked Shawnee State won the men's meet with a score of 45 points.
On the women's side, HU finished 15th out of 30 teams with 408 points. Cendall Ogle finished 13th overall with a new PR of 18:37. She was followed by Diamond Setterberg (77th, 20:05), Krystal McHenry (91st, 20:22), Molly Shirey (107th, 20:49), Miranda Boyts (120th, 21:23) and Bradie Vance (133rd, 22:15). The Foresters' average time for this 5k race was 20:15.
Olivet Nazarene took top honors in the women's race with 71 points.
