Foresters open outdoor season at Washington and Lee University

Huntington, Ind. - The Forester track team traveled to Lexington, Virginia, over the weekend where they participated in Washington and Lee University's two-day track and field carnival.

Josann Schoeff paced the women with a third place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 27.05 and a sixth place finish in the 100 meters with a time of 13.19. She also ran the first leg of the 4 x 100 meter relay team that finished 3rd in 52.35. Other relay team members included Rachel Bayon, Holly Lutton and Mariah Town.

Cendall Ogle also brought home two top ten finishes. She ran a 12:30.59 in the 3000 meter steeplechase to finish seventh and her 2:24.98 in the 800 meters earned her an eight place finish. Kelsey Green finished fourth in the discus with her toss of 115-10 and Holly Lutton ran to a ninth place finish in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.14.

TJ Short logged the top finish for the men. Coming off the heels of basketball, Short finished in a three-way tie for second in high jump with his leap of 5-10. Sean Sewell grabbed two top ten finishes with seventh in the 200 meters (23.08) and ninth in triple jump (41-02.00). Sean LaFontaine claimed fourth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 57.90 and Todd Fielder's leap of 43-06.50 in triple jump landed him a fourth place finish. Other top ten finishes included Logan Knox in the shot put (7th, 40-02.00) and Joseph Herber in the 5000 meters (10th, 15:11.92).

Huntington is back in action on Friday, April 1st when they compete at Defiance College.
