After getting shut out by the University of Sioux Falls, the Foresters bounced back with a 9-0 win over Principia College and a 6-3 victory against Asbury College.
Despite not winning a match against Sioux Falls, HU battled and came close at several positions. Both #1 doubles and #3 doubles fell 8-6 and Daron Short lost a tough three setter at #3 singles.
Against Principia, the Foresters turned the tables and swept the Panthers 9-0. Tyler Moore and Daron Short teamed for the 8-2 win at #1 doubles. Mitchell McDonald and Dustin Ecker won 8-1 at #2 and Adam Widener and Ross Blakely were 8-5 winners at #3.
In singles play, HU won in straight sets at five of the position starting with Moore earning the 6-1, 6-3 victory at #1. McDonald blanked his opponent 6-0, 6-0 at #2. Short only dropped one game in his win at #3. Ecker downed his opponent 6-0, 6-2 at #4. Widener won 6-2, 6-1 at #5 and at #6 Blakely hung on for the 6-1, 4-6 11-9 win.
Moore, Mitchell and Short were all double winners in the match with Asbury. Moore and Mitchell won 8-1 at #1 doubles and then Moore won 6-1, 6-1 at #1 singles while Mitchell was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at #2. Short and Ecker won 8-2 at #2 doubles and then Short got a shut out at #3 singles. Widener earned the Foresters' last point with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at #5 singles.
The men's season record now moves to 6-10.
