The Foresters were a picture of consistency as they shot a 288 in the first round to lead the pack by five strokes and followed up with another 288 on the final 18 holes to finish even par as a team.

Leading the way was senior Jordan Dawes who dominated the competition. Sitting atop the leader board with a 69 after the first 18 holes, he made sure it stuck by shooting a 68 in the second round to finish with a seven-under-par 137 to register HU’s best two-round total on record and bring home medalist honors.

Matt Wilson (71, 76) and Mickey Belt (73, 74) each turned in a 147 to finish in three-way tie for sixth while Devin Dale finished one stroke behind them with a 148 (78, 70) to claim ninth overall. Coming in 22nd was Josh Teulker who shot a 153 (75, 78).

"Any time you win a college golf match it is very enjoyable,” noted Coach Green. “These guys are really working hard at improving their skills right before they head into the conference tournament. “

“What Jordan Dawes did today was very impressive. He has really progressed into a superior college golfer and we have been blessed to have him here at Huntington. The rest of the guys also played very well for all 36 holes. Devin Dale has really improved during his freshman year and becoming a regular contributor to our team scores being so low. All in all, the guys are very excited heading into the Conference Tournament.”

Madonna “A” finished five strokes behind HU with a 581 for second followed by Adrian (606), Spring Arbor (609), Cornerstone (615), Northern Ohio (620), Aquinas (626), Albion (629), Madonna “B” (631), Davenport (633), Siena Heights (633), Mount Vernon (645), Rochester (650), Trine (650) and Concordia (677).

Next up for the Foresters (64-17) is the MCC Tournament slated for April 30-May 1 at Orchard Ridge Country Club in Fort Wayne, Ind.
