Foresters compete at Griak Invite

 Running on an extremely muddy course against a mixture of NAIA and NCAA DII schools, the men and women's Forester cross country teams participated in Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota.

Bolstered by Joseph Herber's 36th place finish out of 334 runners, the Foresters finished 21st out of 28 teams. His time of 26:43 landed him fifth out of all the NAIA runners. Nathan Rupp turned in a solid performance finishing 145th in 28:06 while Lance Wood was right on his heels finishing 147th in 28:06. Alex Rosario was 201st in 28:58 and Seth Murphy rounded out the HU scorers finishing 227th in 29:22. Other Forester harriers included Matt Bittner (256th, 29:56), Daniel Becker (262nd, 30:02), Alan Huffman (273rd, 30:17), Josh McIntyre (274th, 30:18), Isaiah Laatsch (281st, 30:23), David Boyer (304th, 31:27) and Federico Olaosebikan (316th, 32:31).

In the women's race, the Foresters ran a 6K race instead of the normal 5K distance and finished 24th in the team competition. Cendall Ogle paced HU with a 28th finish out of 287 runners. Finishing in 23:40, she was the fourth fastest freshman overall and the sixth fastest NAIA runner. Diamond Setterberg was 139th in 25:19. Krystal McHenry finished in 165th in 25:41 while Bradie Vance was 227th in 26:55. Molly Shirey finished 238th in 27:20, shaving off more than five minutes from her time in this race two years ago.
