The Huntington men's and women's track teams participated in the Eagle Invitational at Benedictine University on Saturday.
For the women, Josann Schoeff paced the Foresters by earning top honors in the 200 meters with a time of 26.64. She was a member of the winning 4x100 relay team that finished in 51.16. Schoeff also ran to a second place finish in the 100 meters with a time of 13.76. Other HU scorers included Bethany McGraw in the 400 meters (3rd, 1:01.35), Michelle Kyler in the 400 hurdles (4th, 1:08.96) and pole vault (5th, 2.95m) and Kelsey Green in discus (3rd, 37.95m).
Bethel College took the women's team title with 179 points followed by UW-Whitewater with 86 and University of Illinois with 75.50. HU was sixth in the field of 23 teams with a score of 48.50.
In men's action, Luke Diehl brought home the men's only first place finish. He won the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:40.75. Other HU scorers for the men included Joseph Herber in the 5000 meters (3rd, 15:26.95), Sean LaFontaine in the 400 hurdles (8th, 59.45), Ryan Morris in pole vault (6th, 3.95m) and Aaron Mills in pole vault (9th, 3.80m).
The University of Illinois won the men's championship with a team score of 150.50 followed by Bethel with 114 and the Carroll University with 54. The Foresters were twelfth of 22 teams with a score of 22.50.
