Forester trio earns MCC honors

 The Mid-Central Conference (MCC) has announced its softball awards for the 2005-06 season. Three Huntington University Foresters, senior Kaley Fode (Upland, IN), sophomore Kendra Stahl (Archbold, OH) and freshman Lauren Ward (Butler, IN) were among the list of honorees. Bethel's Somer Stilley was named the MCC Pitcher of the Year and Indiana Wesleyan's Britney Froedge was the Player of the Year. Sue Bowman of Indiana Wesleyan was selected as the Coach of the Year.

Fode, the Foresters' third baseman, earned All-Conference honors for the second straight year. She was the team's RBI leader, driving in a team-high 21 runs and she hit .325 on the year. Stahl, HU's centerfielder, led the team with her .341 batting average and also drove in 18 runs and Ward, the Foresters' leading pitcher, tallied 162 strikeouts on the season and posted an impressive 1.97 ERA.

Joining the Forester trio on the All-Conference Team were Britny Beneker (Bethel), Hillary Meals (Indiana Wesleyan), Ali White (Marian), Janna Klassen (Spring Arbor), Christi Church (Indiana Wesleyan ), Laura Keech (Bethel), Kerri Schludecker (Marian), Merideth Lechtanski (St. Francis), Emily Pensinger (Taylor), Jenifer Nyhuis (Indiana Wesleyan), Amy Harbolt (Indiana Wesleyan), Jenny Vasquez (St. Francis) and Lindsay Adamczyk (Spring Arbor).
