Elliott joins Forester program

Crawfordsville High School senior standout, Betty Elliott, has signed a Letter of Intent to continue her basketball career at Huntington University next fall. In her final season, the 6’1 center averaged 11.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game for the 16-5 Athenians. Her name will go down in the Crawfordsville record books as she holds the school record for career field goal percentage at 55.4%. She also established several school records her senior campaign which include highest season field goal percentage at 61.1%, most blocks in a season with 63 and most blocks in a game with 12.

Elliott’s accomplishments on the court earned her numerous accolades. As a senior, she was a Sagamore First Team All-Conference selection and was named to the All -Area First Team. She was also selected to the All Sugar Creek Classic Tournament Team.

Huntington University basketball coach, Lori Culler, is looking forward to Elliott’s contributions to the team. “Betty is another great addition to our 2010 recruiting class. Aside from the obvious plus of her size in the post, she also brings excellent rebounding and shot blocking skills. She gives us another banger inside and someone who can finish on the block. Betty’s best basketball is ahead of her and we’re excited to see how far her potential will take her.”

Elliott plans to major in Physical Education.
