HUNTINGTON, Ind. - It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Huntington University sophomore soccer player Kaitlyn Dreman (Centennial, Colo.) as earlier this month she along with her Colorado Rapids Women teammates were crowned the U-20 North American Champions.

The Colorado Rapids Ladies Under 20’s team competed last week in the USL North American Championships in Bradenton Florida at the world renowned IMG Soccer Facilities where they came in as the underdogs and left as champions.

After knocking off Reading United, the top seed in the Mid Atlantic division, in the opening game, the Rapids went on to dominate Force Football Academy and defending champions Triangle FC in pool play to land a spot in the championship game where they outlasted heavy favorites DC United 1-0 to bring home gold.

As a freshman for the Foresters' this past fall, Dreman quickly transitioned to the collegiate ranks to help guide HU to a program best record of 10-6-3. She worked her way into the starting line-up for 12 of HU's 19 contests and scored two goals while assisting another.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 46 NAIA All-America honors and 202 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations.
