Bloomington, Ind. - The HU cross country teams ran in Indiana Intercollegiate Little State on Friday at Indiana University with the women bringing home a sixth place finish with 180 points while the men finished seventh with 213 points.
For the women, Gretchen Spahr ran in the top spot for the Foresters, finishing 21st with a time of 19:56. Cendall Ogle came in 29th in 20:19. Krystal McHenry crossed the line in 20:40 to finish 37th. Miranda Boyts claimed 48th with her time of 21:15. She was followed by teammates Erin Rockey (59th, 21:29), Natalie Spahr (77th, 22:31) and Amanda Henningfield (81st, 22:44).
NCAA D-II Southern Indiana won the small school division with 28 points.
Joseph Herber paced the men’s team running a 26:31 to finish 22nd. Trailing him by nine seconds was Alec Rosario who claimed the 26th spot in 26:40. Taking 55th place was Brian Menzie in 27:30. Nathan Rupp was 61st in 27:40 and Lance Wood was on his heals with a 63rd place finish in 27:43. Isaiah Laatsch turned in a 29:02 to finish 94th.
Southern Indiana also claimed the men’s small school division with 33 points.
The Foresters take a two-week break before returning to competition at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic (KY) on October 1.
