California native to bowl for the Foresters

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - California's James Knapp has recently signed his letter of intent to bowl for Huntington University this fall. Knapp graduated this spring from Los Angeles County High School for the Arts and plans to major in music at HU.

The North Hollywood native has established quite the reputation for himself on the west coast having won a title in the Southern California Junior Amateur Tour to go along with a handful of top four finishes in various regional junior bowling tours. He has also competed in the North LA County USBC City Tournament, California State USBC State Tournament and California State Pepsi Youth Tournament.

Knapp, who boasts a high average of 215, high series of 770 and high game of 300, competed this summer in the North Pointe USBC Junior Gold Championships in Detroit.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 39 NAIA All-America honors and 213 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
