Huntington, Ind.—For the 12th consecutive year, Huntington University's baseball team trekked to Daytona Beach, Fla., to spend the week of spring break doing a service project and playing baseball.
Seventeen players, a trainer, a statistics person and five coaches made up the group. The team played seven games in eight days.
“We finished 5-2 in our seven games,” said Mike Frame, head baseball coach and associate director of admissions. “All were against very good teams.”
The team also spent time at Holly Hill United Brethren in Christ Church, another annual event. After attending the church on the first Sunday of their trip, the team was given use of the church vans for the week. The team, as a service project, did general clean up on the church ground and at the church thrift store downtown.
