Huntington University women’s soccer
head coach Ryan Burgher has announced that Erin Barclay has signed a national letter of intent to continue her playing career at Huntington University this fall. Barclay, a senior at Western High School in Spring Arbor, Michigan, is the third HU women’s soccer signing of the 2011 class.
As a four-year varsity starter, Barclay has had a great high school career as a Panther. She was named All-Conference and All-District as a freshman and sophomore. In 2010, she led her team to a District Championship.
Throughout high school, Barclay has also been apart of Campus Life, Spring Arbor FM Church, Yearbook, Prom Committee and the Homecoming Court.
Barclay has played her club ball with Jackson United and Jackson Rush Central. In 2009. Jackson Rush Central won the Select 1 League Championship.
“I really liked the campus and the people when I visited. I loved the soccer team…and the coach…,” joked Barclay. “I’m obviously excited for soccer and being at a new place with different people to learn and grow as a person. Mostly I’m excited that Huntington has my big sister Samantha.”
“It already feels like Erin is a apart of our family here but I’m really happy she decided to make it official! She is a fun-loving person and is great to have around. She is a great player who loves the Lord and I’m confident she’ll bring that to our team,” said Coach Burgher. “Erin has speed, size and skill and will have the chance to make a impact on the field for us right away.”
Erin will be majoring in exercise science and is the daughter of Kevin and Jill Barclay
