Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington College Athletics Department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of January 24-30, 2005. Women’s basketball junior Janna Knisely earned the honor for her outstanding efforts during the week.
Janna Knisely, an elementary education major from Warsaw, Ind. (Warsaw High School), had two solid performances to help lead the Foresters to a 1-1 week. In the Foresters’ 65-59 loss to the 14th-ranked Cougars of St. Francis, Knisely went 6-8 from the field including 2-2 from behind the 3-point line for a season-high 15 points. She also added two assists and two steals. In Huntington’s 68-61 upset win over 16th-ranked Taylor University, Knisely went 5-9 from the field and 2-2 from the line for 12 points. She also chipped in six rebounds, dished out two assists and had two steals. The Foresters (9-13, 4-7) return to action at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2005, when they travel to Winona Lake to take on Grace College.
The Huntington College Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past eight years, Huntington has produced 50 NAIA All-American honors and 99 All-American Scholar Athlete honors.
