Huntington, Ind.— The Huntington College athletic department announced its Athlete of the Week for the time spanning December 17, 2002 - January 5, 2003. Women’s basketball senior Sarah Gordon earned the honor for her excellent efforts during the Christmas break competitions..
Gordon, a history education major from Wolcottville, Ind. (Prairie Heights High School), was named to the All-Tournament team at the Warner Southern Tournament in Lake Wales, Fla. on Jan 3-4. She poured in 17 points, shooting 5-11 from the field, 4-5 from the line, with four rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 70-60 loss to Warner Southern on Friday. Against Cardinal Stritch of Wisconsin on Saturday, Gordon led the Foresters to a 71-67 victory with 21 points. She shot 9-16 from the field with one rebound, two assists and one steal. She currently leads the Mid-Central Conference with 22 points per game. Her 308 points so far this season gives her a 1,220 total career points, moving her to 10th on the all-time scorers list for the Forester women's basketball program. Gordon is a Dean’s List honoree. The Lady Foresters are currently 7-7 on the season.
The Huntington College Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
