Symphonic Band to host free concert

HUNTINGTON, Ind. — Join the Huntington University Symphonic Band for a free concert at 7:30 p.m. May 3 in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts.

The Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Robert Lynn, will perform pieces such as a Suite from “Star Wars,” which include all of the famous themes from the entire Star Wars Saga; Suite from “Oklahoma;” and “Vesuvius” composed Frank Ticheli in 1999. This piece, with power and energy, is based on Mt. Vesuvius, the volcano that destroyed Pompeii in A.D. 79.
