Students recognized at state music competition

HUNTINGTON, Ind. — Eighteen students represented Huntington University at the Indiana chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) annual competition on Nov. 3 at Indiana Wesleyan University. Four received special awards.

Those recognized were:

  • Haley Glinz, a freshman music performance major, took third place in the “Freshman Women” category.
  • Ja'Shon Burks, a sophomore music education and Bible & religion-religious studies major, took honorable mention in the “Sophomore Men” category.
  • Brittany Blazier, a junior music education major, took third place in the “Junior Women” category.
  • Jacob Keefer, a senior music major, took second place in the “5th year seniors/early advanced” category.

NATS invites vocal students from around Indiana to compete each year.

  • Jacob Smith, a junior music education major
  • Molly Williams, a sophomore music with emphasis in business & worship leadership major
