Huntington, Ind.—This fall, Huntington University will welcome four new faculty members.
Dr. Robert Lynn begins as assistant professor of music. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in tuba performance from William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., his Master of Arts degree in tuba performance from Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo., and his Doctor of Arts in tuba performance and music theory from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind. Lynn has taught at Huntington University as an adjunct instructor since 2000. He also has taught at Manchester College in North Manchester, Ind. In addition, he currently serves as choir director at North Manchester United Methodist Church.
Mr. Matthew Ruiz begins at Huntington as instructor in exercise science. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training and exercise science from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn., and his Master of Science degree in exercise science and sport studies from Springfield College in Springfield, Mass. He also is a candidate for a Ph.D. in kinesiology from University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn. Ruiz has taught at Springfield College and University of Minnesota.
Mr. William E. VanDoodewaard has accepted a one-year appointment as visiting professor of history. He earned his Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in history from University of Western Ontario, Canada, and his Master of Arts degree in religion from Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Mich. He also is a candidate for a Ph.D. in history from University of Aberdeen, Highland Theological College in Dingwall, Scotland. He has taught at Providence Reformed Collegiate in London, Canada.
Dr. Edwin Woodruff Tait begins as assistant professor of Bible and religion. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and history from Milligan College in Milligan, Tenn., his Master of Arts in religion from Duke University and his Ph.D. in the history of Christianity from Duke University. Since 2004, he has served as adjunct professor of western civilization at William Patterson University in Wayne, N.J.
