HUNTINGTON, Ind.—
Bryan Ballinger, associate professor of
digital media arts at Huntington University, received a third place award at the 2011 EPSON International Photographic Pano Awards in the open competition nature category for his work in panographic photography. Photographs from more than 62 different countries entered the competition this year.
“My entry was a panoramic photo of a scene across the street from our house in Huntington,” Ballinger said. “I set my camera on a tripod and then took multiple exposures of each shot as I rotated the camera around to get an almost full 360 view. All together it took about an hour to shoot the photo.”
After completing the shoot, Ballinger used software to combine the individual shots into one photograph.
