Huntington, Ind.—The artwork created this year by Huntington University’s visual arts students will be on display March 27 through April 9 in the Robert E. Wilson Gallery in the Merillat Centre for the Arts.
The 20th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibit will be judged by Grace Benedict O'brien, artist and continuing instructor in the department of art and design at Purdue University.
Prizes will be awarded for Best of Show ($250), first place ($150), second place ($125) and third place ($100). The visual arts faculty will also select a piece for the Robert E. Wilson Purchase Award ($250) to become part of the university’s permanent collection. Outstanding achievement awards will also be presented in the areas of basic design 2D and 3D, painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, computer illustration, illustration, Web design and graphic design.
Awards are presented during a reception from 6 to 7:30 p.m. March 27.
The Wilson Gallery is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., before and after all Merillat Centre performances and by appointment. The gallery is free and open to the public.
