Dr. Jody Davenport
Assistant Professor of Physical Education
Dr. Jody
Davenport joined the full-time faculty in the fall of 2007. She earned
her Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education from Manchester
College in North Manchester, Ind., and her Master of Science degree in
secondary education from Indiana University-Purdue University-Fort
Wayne. She earned her Ph.D. in post-secondary and adult
education from Capella University in Minneapolis, Minn. Prior to
becoming full-time faculty, Davenport served as an adjunct instructor at
Huntington University from 2005 to 2007. She has more than 20 years of
teaching experience with students ranging in age from preschool to
adults.
She is an active member of the American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, & Dance. She is also an active member of Indiana Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, & Dance, where she serves as the vice president of the council on research in higher education. She has also served as conference guest lecturer in 2010. She is a member of the Association for Secondary Curriculum Development, and is involved in these community activities: YMCA board member; Growing Place Preschool board member; Dallas Township library board member; and Adult small group leader (HFCN).
