(with Pam Rudy)
(with Sara Baldwin)
Recipients of the Huntington University PEER AWARD for the month of February are Beth West and Deb James.
Pam Rudy passed the PEER AWARD to Beth West. Beth is Education Department Secretary and has been with HU for 5 years. In recognizing Beth, Pam writes “I have chosen Beth West as the next recipient of the PEER Award. She is very much appreciated by the students and Faculty in the Education Department and has worked tirelessly to help provide a peaceful working and learning environment for them. Her willingness to do what it takes for our accreditation process and her attention to detail are just a few of the things that make her stand out among the rest. Although we don’t interact very much between our two positions, it is a blessing to me knowing she’s here, impacting lives through her actions and service. Thank you Beth!!!”
Sara Baldwin passed the PEER AWARD to Deb James. Deb serves as Financial Aid Secretary and has been with HU for 6 years. In recognizing Deb, Sara writes, “Deb James has been a huge help to me in my first year at Huntington University. Deb and I work together frequently to coordinate the financial needs of prospective students. She is always patient and kind with me, even when I’ve called her for the fifth time that day to ask a question or get an update on a specific student. She puts a lot of time and care into her work with students and makes their start at Huntington University a great experience. She is greatly appreciated!”

About our Peer Award Program
The focus of the PEER AWARD is to promote acknowledgement and recognition of the outstanding efforts of faculty and staff members. Award winners will be chosen and recognized each month by fellow peers. A traveling award will be presented each month. Each recipient will also receive a special, personalized award to keep. Two awards will be presented each month. The award winners from the previous month will choose a winner to recognize at the beginning of the next month.
The award winner should be a faculty or staff member who has had an impact on you personally or professionally during the month. Items to consider include; motivation, inspiration, spiritual leadership, extraordinary effort in helping with job duties, etc. The award began in December of 2003 with the previous academic year's Professor of the Year and Staff Member of the Year. However, the awards should not necessarily stay divided between faculty and staff. The PEER AWARD is intended to mingle between the lines and cross all departments.
Full-time and part-time employees are eligible for PEER AWARD consideration. The senior leadership team is not eligible for the award.
The award may not be passed to a member within the same department as the current winner (ex. Polly Tribolet cannot pass the award to Becky Lyons). The award may not be passed to a member of the same family.
A variety of avenues may be used to promote and notify the campus of the award winners, including: campus email, Campus Bulletin, Coffey Break, FUSE plug, Huntingtonian, Celebration of Service appreciation dinner, and/or recognition on this website. Keep a look out at the beginning of each month for the PEER AWARD winners.
